It is important in the application process for jobs, special service exams, government-issued documents, business registration, passport and visa process, etc.
What is NBI Clearance Online Renewal?
The NBI clearance is valid for one year. Once it expires or is about to expire, you should renew it. The NBI has provided two processes for the renewal of NBI clearance ID:
- Door-to-door delivery
- Pick up
Door to Door Delivery:
This process is online. From the online registration to fee payment and choosing your address for the delivery, everything is processed online. You can perform all the steps from the comfort of your home.
In this blog, I have explained in detail the process of NBI clearance renewal with images in simple steps. I have also explained opting for the door-to-door delivery method and to provide the address for the delivery.
While opting for the door-to-door delivery method, you should need to know that it is costly. It includes the delivery charges as well. Besides, you will get the renewed NBI ID within 7 to 10 working days.
Pick-Up Method:
In this method, you will get the NBI clearance ID personally from an NBI office. You will apply online through the NBI website, clearance.nbi.gov.pk, -do online registration, schedule an online appointment, and make online fee payment.
This process is less expensive than the door-to-door delivery method. You will get the NBI clearance on the same day of your visit to the office. But, in this method, you will go personally to the NBI office for the collection of the NBI clearance ID.
Requirements for the NBI Clearance Online Renewal:
The requirements for the renewal of the NBI clearance depend on the type of delivery. If you want to get the clearance renewal at your doorstep. Then you need only the expired NBI ID number.
However, if you want to pick up the clearance renewal by yourself. Then you will need the following documents at the office to collect the clearance ID personally:
- Two Valid IDs
- Old NBI clearance ID(in case you don’t have the ID, you can still get the clearance renewal if you have the ID number)
The valid IDs must fulfill the following criteria:
- Original IDs(not photocopied)
- Valid IDs(not expired)
- Not damaged(it shows your name, signature, and photo clearly)
Online Application Process for the Renewal of the NBI Clearance in 2025:
The online application process for the NBI clearance renewal depends on the selection of the delivery method.
When you select the door-to-door delivery method, the online application process will be composed of the following steps:
Step 1. Online Registration Process
Step 2. Choose the door-to-door method of delivery
Step 3. Complete the door-to-door delivery process
Step 4. Fee payment
All the steps will be completed online.
When you select the pick-up delivery method, then the application process will be composed of the following steps:
Step 1. Online Registration process
Step 2. Choose the Pickup delivery method
Step 3. Online appointment
Step 4. Fee payment
Step 5. Visit the selected NBI branch office
The first four steps will be processed online through the NBI website, clearance.nbi.gov.pk. For step 5, you need to visit the selected NBI office for the collection of the ID.
Online Application for the NBI Clearance Renewal in 4 Simple Steps in 2025(Door-to-Door Delivery):

The online application procedure for the renewal of NBI clearance is for those applicants whose clearance has expired or is about to expire. Besides, this process is for the renewal of those expired clearances that were issued on October 16, 2016, or later. They can apply for the NBI clearance renewal.
Although you can also apply through the proper online application process and then visit the NBI office for the collection of the NBI clearance, this method is easy and can be processed anytime. You can do all the process from the comfort of your home. You can also get the NBI clearance at your doorstep.
But this process is expensive. It will cost you PHP 355 to PHP 372 in total. It includes:
- Processing fee charges=PHP 130
- Delivery charges=PHP 200 to PHP 250 depending on the location
- Payment service charges =PHP 10 to 20 depending on the payment option.
You can renew your clearance without leaving your home. The NBI clearance will be delivered to you within 7 to 10 working days.
Step 1. Online Registration Process for the NBI Clearance Renewal:
Go to the NBI Clearance Official Website at https://clearance.nbi.gov.ph/, for online application.
When you click this link, you will get a pop-up window on the screen.
On the top of this popup page, there are two languages, English and Tagalog. Click on the language with which you feel comfortable. Read the Data Privacy Statement for your information. Then click on the I AGREE button.
You will have another two popup windows, as under.
Click on the CLOSE buttons of these two windows. You will get the home page of the NBI clearance.
This is the home page of the NBI service website. For NBI Clearance Online Renewal, click on the CLICK HERE button in the yellow box. You will get the online renewal form.
Your expired ID number is a must for the process of the NBI clearance renewal. Here is a sample of the clearance ID, in which the ID number is highlighted for you.
Write your old NBI ID number, mobile number, first name, middle name, last name, and date of birth in the correct format(first write a month, then a day, and finally year of birth) in the renewal form.
Review these details once again. Then click the Verify button.
A new window will open on the screen. It is a verification window.
There are 3 methods of verification for the NBI clearance renewal. When you click the arrow ley, you will see them.
You can verify your details through 3 verification methods:
- Mother’s information
- The mobile number which was used during the registration process
- Email address that was used during the registration process
Click on one method. And then click the verify button. Let’s suppose click on the Mother’s information option.
Write your mother’s name and the name of the birthplace of your mother. Then click the Verify button.
A preview of all your information will be displayed on the screen. Check all the information and make sure that all the information is correct and up to date.
If all the pieces of information are correct, check the confirmation box. Then click the Continue button.
Here the online registration process for the NBI clearance renewal has been completed.
Step 2. Choose the Delivery Method(Door-to-Door Delivery) for Online Clearance Renewal:
Click the PAY button. A popup window will be displayed.
Click on the I Agree button. A Terms and Conditions and Data Privacy page will appear. Scroll down the page to the bottom. You will see the Agree button. Click on that button.
After clicking the Agree button, you will get a popup window, as shown below.
Click the PROCEED button. You will get a form. It is a delivery form that provides your details.
Step 3. Compete the Door-to-Door Delivery Online Procedure:
Here is the form. You need to fill up this form.
Fill out the form by providing the following details:
- Receiver name
- Mobile number
- Second mobile number (optional)
- Email address
- Province
- City municipality
- Barangay
- Full address details
- Street name
When you scroll down this form further, you will have an option where you can pin your location by entering your address.
When you pin your delivery location successfully, click on the below PROCEED button. You will get the transaction slip along with the payment methods.
Step 4. Fee Payment for the Online NBI Clearance Renewal:
You need to pay the amount mentioned in the transaction slip, which is equal to PHP 360. Moreover, to pay the renewal fee, you need to select a payment method from the given options. Click on any of the given payment methods, the below Proceed button will become highlighted.
Now click the Proceed button to pay the transaction fee for the NBI clearance renewal.
When you click any of the payment options. An extra amount of the service charges will add to the processing fee. The service charges depend on the selection of the payment option.
In this case, we have selected the 7-ELEVEN payment method which charges PHP 12 as service charges. So, we have to pay PHP 372 in total.
After clicking the Proceed button, a reference will be generated for the fee payment. The reference number is arrowed in the above form and is present below the barcode.
Take a picture of the barcode with a mobile or note down the reference number. Go to the nearest 7-11 branch. Show the barcode and make the payment on the transaction slip, which is PHP 372.
You can also pay through the other payment options. Click on your preferred payment method. A reference number will be generated.
Through this stepwise method, you can renew your NBI clearance online.
Online Application for the NBI Clearance Renewal in Simple Steps(Pick up Delivery):
This application method is almost the same as the application process for a new applicant. It is mainly completed in 5 steps.
Step 1. Online Registration with the NBI website, clearance.nbi.gov.pk.
Step 2. Fill up the applicant application form and select a valid ID
Step 3. Online appointment
Step 4. Fee payment
Step 5. Go to the NBI branch office at the scheduled appointment

Go to the NBI official website.
Do the registration process by providing the required details
After successful registration, sign in to your profile
Step 2. Fill up the Application form:
Provide your registered email address and password to sign in to your profile
Fill up the applicant application profile
Review and edit your information again before clicking the submit button
Click on the Apply for Clearance button
Step 3. Schedule an Online Appointment:

Select a day and time from the available slots

How Can OFWs Renew their NBI Clearance from Abroad?
Overseas Filipino Workers(OFWs) are applicants who reside in other countries, and they need to renew their NBI clearance.
If you are an OFW and want to know how to renew your NBI clearance, Here is the process.
But, first, you should know the requirements.
Requirements for NBI Clearance Renewal for OFWs:
You should have the following requirements:
- Previous NBI clearance ID:
- A photocopy of the Passport Data Page
- One recent passport-size picture with a white background
- Processing Fee
- Letter of Authorization(if you are applying through a representative)
Online Application Process for the NBI Clearance Renewal for OFWs:
The process of online application process for the NBI clearance renewal for Overseas Filipino Workers is processed through three methods.
Method 1. Online Application Process for the Renewal of the NBI Clearance through a Representative:
Schedule an online appointment through the official NBI website, clearance.nbi.gov.pk.
Do the registration process with the NBI website and pay the processing fee.
Provide the required documents to the representative. Send the representative to the NBI office. So, that they can process your application on your part.
This type of application is processed in the NBI main office in Ermita, or Manila. Your representative will get the renewal ID on your behalf if you don’t have a hit.
Method 2. Online Application for the NBI Clearance Renewal(without a Representative):
If you don’t have a representative or you simply don’t want to process your application through a representative, you can send your application through an email to the NBI office at the below address.

Note: you don’t need an authorization letter in this case.
The NBI office will send you the NBI clearance through a courier service. It will take up to two months depending on your residing country.
Method 3. How to renew your NBI clearance as an OFW without an Online Appointment:
If your NBI clearance is issued since 2014, or after. You don’t need to apply for an online appointment. Provide the required documents to the representative. He/she will go to the NBI office at Ermita or Manila and will collect the NBI clearance renewal on your behalf.
Online Application Process for the NBI Clearance Renewal for the Foreigners Residing in the Philippines:
If you are a foreigner residing in the Philippines. You want to renew your NBI clearance. You should need to know the requirements first.
Here is a list of the required documents:
- Original old NBI clearance
- Original and photocopy of passport (from the data page up to the latest visa sticker)
- Original and photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration or ACR I-Card (front and back)
- Printed copy of the online application form
- Official fee receipt
The procedure for the renewal of NBI clearance for foreigners is the same as for the Philippines. However, the appointment is scheduled in specific NBI offices only.
If you are in NCR-Metropolitan, Manila- you can choose only the main NBI office in Manila for the appointment.
If you are residing outside of the NCR, you need to select the NBI office of the province you are residing in. But it will take a longer time. Your application will be sent to the main office in Manila for verification.
On the appointment day, you need to do the following steps:
- Go to the selected NBI office
- Enquire about the Alien Registration Office
- Collect the Alien Registration form and fill out the form
- Put your fingerprint and sign the form
- Submit the form in the office along with the other requirements.
