How to Apply Online for the National Police Clearance in 2025(Step-by-Step Guide):

Now, you can get the national police clearance online in the Philippines. It is a fast, efficient, and convenient process. You can apply from anywhere and any time. All you need is to understand how to apply for it.

The online application process consists of 4 major steps. I have explained each step in simple words and attached screenshots of every step for your comfort.

Step 1: 🖥️ Online Registration through the NPCS(National Police Clearance System) website:

To apply online, you have to do online registration first through the NPCS official portal  https://pnpclearance.ph/.

Click on the link and it will direct you to this home page.

 Now if you are a first-time applicant you need to click on the REGISTER button and sign up with your credentials.

Otherwise; if you had already registered and had an account. You need to click on the LOGIN button and provide your registered email and password.

Note: Scan all the terms and conditions to avoid any issue later. Besides, check all the boxes to go to the next page. 

After check mark ✔ the boxes for the Agreement, Privacy Policy, you will get multiple such popup pages. Check mark all of the them. You will get an I agree button at the last page. Click it. You will get a New Applicant Registration form.

Fill out the online registration form with correct personal information. Provide an active email address as you will get a confirmation message through your provided email.

After putting all your information correctly. Click on the Register button. 

After clicking the Register button, you will get a verification message from the NPCS system. Check the message in the inbox or spam folder in your provided gmail. In this message, you will get a verification link. 

 Click on “Click here to verify” and you will be directed to the login page of the NPCS website. Provide your registered email and password to log in to your profile.

 

Step 2: 🗓️ Schedule an Online Appointment & Complete Profile:

Sign in to your account through your registered email and password.

When you sign-in to your account, the below page will be appeared.

Edit and Complete Your Profile:

Before booking the online appointment, click the Edit Profile button. You will get an Applicant Information page.

 Provide all the information and fill out all the sections correctly. Make sure that all the sections are filled out and there is no spilling mistake. Then click on the Save Profile button to save your data.

Warning: Check all the provided information once again and make sure that all the information are correct. Any wrong entry will be on the applicant part and not on the PNP’s. These information will be printed on the certificate. So, presence of a single error in the certificate will be only corrected by repeating the whole process again. So, to avoid any issue later, please make sure to provide correct and updated information.

Note: If you are a PWD(Person With Disabilities), then don’t forget to check the PWD box.

Note: If you are a First Time Job Seeker, then check mark it compulsory. Doing so will make the application process free of cost for you. This facility is only available once for the educated applicant, who is seeking the certificate for the first time. The act is called the First Time Job Seekers Assistant Act.

Now click on the Clearance Application button.

When you click this button, another page will appear. On that page, you must select your preferred police station, with the name and address shown below.

Select Your Police Station(Location, Date, and Time):

Select your preferred or nearest police station. Name and address of the selected police station will be shown after selecting one of the police stations.

Then select a day and the time (either AM or PM). Every day has a specific number of slots. Click on a desired slot, a specific day, and then click slot from the available time slots with AM or PM. Then click the Next button.

Now you have to pay clearance processing fee. when you click Next, in the next step you need to select the payment option. Click on the LandBank of the Phils button. It will also display the total fee, that you will need to pay. Click Next then.

When you click the Next button, a page will be displayed on the screen. It will contain the transaction summary including your selected police station, appointment date, a reference number, payment and fee amount.

Click the Click here to pay button.

Note down or save the generated reference number of the fee payment slip as you will need it later at the police station to secure the clearance certificate. Review all the details and then click Save Appointment.

Step 3: 💳₱ Pay the Fee Online for the Clearance Certificate:

You have the reference number. Now you can proceed with fee payment for the police clearance. Click on the Click here to pay button and You will be taken to the LBP ePayment page where you can pay the police clearance fee through Land Bank, G-cash, BancNet cards, or the 7-Eleven payment option.

• Select your preferred payment option.
• Complete the captcha challenge(if any). 
• Click Continue
• selected your preferred payment method
•  Enter the account number and PIN and wait for the transaction details and payment summary to display
• Save the fee receipt with yourself.

The police clearance fee is PHP 160(PHP 150 plus PHP 10 transaction fee)

Step 4. 🛡️ Visit Your Selected Police Station for Biometrics and Final Processing: 

On your mentioned date and time, go to your selective police station. You must have the following three requirements:

1. Your reference number,
2. Two valid IDs,
3. An  official receipt of payment

The biometrics (photo capture, fingerprints,) process will be done at the police station, and then your application will pass through a verification process.

In the verification process, the police officer will check your biometrics and illegal or criminal records in the NPCS database. In case everything was fine and you didn’t have any illegal or criminal charges, you will get your clearance certificate immediately. Otherwise, you will be passed through multiple steps for further verifications. What is a National Police Clearance in the Philippines?

National Police clearance is a certificate that proves that the holder has a clear past. He/she had done no criminal or unlawful activities. 

You will need it if you are applying for a new job, a valid ID, a credit card, or any government-issued documents like a birth certificate, opening a bank account, doing large transactions, renting a house/shop, doing business or it can be requested by a government agency or an employer.

Local Police Clearance in the Philippines:

At the police station, they will do further verification, photo capture, and biometrics. If you don’t have any unlawful activities or active warrants in the NPCS database, they will issue you the clearance certificate on the spot.

Police clearance requirements depend on the type of police clearance. 

Documents Requirement  For Local Clearance(LPC):

1. Cedula or Community Tax Certificate(original + copy):

You can get this certificate from the municipal or city treasurer’s office. This certificate is compulsory for getting a barangay certificate, which is a must for getting local police clearance.

2. Original and Photocopy of Barangay Certificate:

You can get barangay clearance from the barangay where you reside for at least three months.

3. 2 Passport-sized Photos(2*2):

Take two pictures with yourself before going to the municipal hall or local police station. They have a camera in the station to take pictures, but it is a good decision to take pictures with yourself to get your work done quickly. Besides, the absence of a camera in the station or the occurrence of any issue with the camera will make no hurdles for your work to get done.

4. One Valid Government- Issued ID:

You need a valid ID to prove your identification and the address at the station. Take two photocopies of valid IDs with yourself as well. 

Documents requirement for National Clearance (NPC):

To apply online for the NPC,  the NPCS doesn’t require too many documents. You also don’t need a barangay certificate. You needs the following:

Application Process for the Police Clearance Certificates in Philippines in 2025:

There are two ways to apply for it in the Philippines depending on the type of police clearance: apply online to get the national clearance at the NPCS website, or do a walk-in to get the local police from the local municipal hall or police station. 

To get a local police clearance, you need to go to the local municipal hall personally, and you don’t need to sign up online.

If you’re applying for the NPC clearance, then you need to sign up online. You have to provide your all personal correct details. Choose your appointment timing and your preferred police station. You can do all this with the NPCS portal at https://pnpclearance.ph/. Please keep in mind that all police stations are not included in the online scheduling appointment system. 

1. How to Apply for a Local Clearance(LPC)?

To apply for the local police station, visit a local police station in your area.

Enquire about the application process and requirements. It mainly includes the documents which we have mentioned above.

Request for the application form at the police station.

Then go to the local treasury office and pay the police clearance fee. Put your thumb impression and signature on the police clearance pay slip.

Fill out the application form with your credentials correctly, and attached other required documents and the original fee receipt with the application form

Sumbit it at the police station.

Wait for the verification process of your application. The verification process time depends on the work load at the police station. You will be informed to collect the clearance certificate once the verification process is completed.

2. How to Register for NPC Online(2025 Guide):

The PNP(Philippines National Police) has an online system to apply for police clearance. It provides a fast, efficient, and convenient system for Filipinos to get the certificate in about 10 minutes. It was launched in 2018.

You will apply online for the police clearance.  However, you still have to make a physical presence at your preferred police station at your selected time and date for the biometrics, photo capture, and verification. Otherwise, most of the work had already been compiled through the online system.  This whole online  process is completed in four easy steps:

• Online registration through the NPCS official website.
• Schedule an online appointment.
• Online fee payment.
• Visit the police station for verification and collection of police clearance.

Renewal Options for 2025:

There is no direct procedure present for the renewal of the clearance certificate. It is only valid for six months. Upon passing the expiry date, the certificate became useless. 

If you want to get a new national police clearance certificate, you will need to log in to your profile through the official PNP link  https://pnpclearance.ph/. Log in to your profile and update your information. 

Now there are two methods to get a new clearance certificate: a clearance certificate with a personal appearance and online clearance certificate without a personal appearance. 

Online Renewal (without Appearance):

You can get a police clearance online renewal within three years from the issuance date of the first police clearance. During this duration, you need to apply online for the clearance renewal. But, you will need to present the expired clearance certificate, photos with a white background, and a picture of yourself holding a valid ID as a compulsory requirement.

If you fulfill all the requirements for the online clearance renewal and your application gets accepted. You will get a soft copy of the certificate through your Gmail, and will also get a hard copy through the courier service. 

Online Renewal (with Appearance):

You can get the police clearance renewal with your personal visit to the selected police station. This method is almost the same as the one of getting a fresh clearance document. 

Go to the official link of the NPCS website and complete the application procedure. Select the appointment date and location of the police station. Then pay the police clearance fee. Finally, visit the preferred police station for biometrics, document verification, and checking records in the NPCS database. In case of no HIT, you will get a clearance certificate.

There are multiple options for fee payment. Payment methods are on the NPCS website, and it is easy to pay for the clearance certificate. Here are some ways to make payments.

Land Bank Payment option:

To make a payment through Land Bank, click on the “Pay to Land Bank”  button. This will direct you to the LBP ePayment Portal. Where you can pay through Land Bank, GCash, or BancNet.

Pay via GCash:

Payment via land bank options( LAND BANK. GCash, BancNet) is almost processed through the same method.

GCash is a mobile wallet that allows its users to perform transactions using their smartphones. You can pay the police clearance fee through GCash by following simple steps without going to visit a physical payment center. 

If you want to pay through GCash, simply enter your GCash number on the LBP ePayment Portal. A confirmation message will be sent to your mobile number. There will be a 6-digit code in that message. Copy that code and paste it here.

Then enter the 4-digit MPIN of the GCash. A page will be displayed showing the transaction details and the payment summary. The payment fee will be deducted from your GCash account. 

The same procedure also applies for payment through LANDBANK or BancNet. All these payment methods have the same process of payment. 

7-Eleven Payment (CLIQQ):

National Police clearance fees can also be paid through the 7-Eleven Payment option. Which is a OTC payment method. In this method, the applicant pay the fee by visiting a Landbank, 7-Eleven center, etc. and pay the fee in cash. If you don’t have a GCash, LANDBANK, or BancNet account, you can pay through this method. The process of payment through 7-Eleven is as follows:

Click on the Cash Payment Option on the LBP ePayment Portal and then Click Submit:

• Select the 7-Eleven payment method and then click proceed.
• Note down or save the reference number. 
• Pay through the CLIQQ mobile app. You need to have a CLIQQ account to pay through the 7-Eleven payment method. You can also pay through the CLIQQ machine.
• From the list of billers, click on the Government option and then select “MYEGPH”
• Write the payment reference number, mobile number, and total payment amount.
• Proceed to the nearest 7-Eleven branch to pay for your police clearance.   
• Show the barcode on the CLIQQ app to pay.
